The Opposition -
As the proponents for the new Town were making their case, at the same time various people (and organizations) started to voice their opposition...
These included -
  • Commercial enterprises who would see their businesses phased out (under the "no commerce" clause) over the next 20 years - the main ones being the Adobe Creek Lodge and the Neary Quarry.
  • Some people genuinely concerned that having their own Town (with its associated "government") was bound to cost the taxpayers more money - by having to pay for road maintenance, a Police force, infrastructure needed for water supply, and similar expenses incurred by typical suburbia.
