The web-pages constituting this "book" are not intended for publication or access by the public in general. The original hardcover book is covered by copyright protection and thus it may not be copied or published without permission from the copyright owners. These web-pages are purely a limited project created for purposes of educating residents of The Town of Los Altos Hills (or prospective residents) about the history of the Town as well as the philosophy and motivations that prompted the founders to establish a separate Town - distinct from its neighbors in its appreciation of a semi-rural spacious environment, but permeable for access by pedestrians and equestrians through a a network of pathways. Thus this on-line "book" is in recognition of the Town's History and the importance of making that history more widely known to (and appreciated by) the residents of Los Altos Hills so that the character and values of our town can be preserved as best we know how, and in the face of continued societal pressures to compromise them. As far as is known, only 1,000 copies of the original book were printed. Of these, a few are available for sale on the second-hand market (e.g. at Amazon.com and Abe Books), but very few - less than can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The on-line version of the book can be accessed by clicking on the image of the Book's front cover (immediately below) - in addition but seaparate from the book itself, some information about how the book got to be initialy created, as well as about the author herself, may be found by clicking About the Book .
