The Horsemen of Los Altos Hills

Introduction

Horses and their Owners have played an important role in the shaping of Los Altos Hills.

Horsemen (primarily women as it turns out) took an active role starting even before the Town was officialy incorporated. The idea of encouraging horse-ownership by residents, and establishing an accompanying trail system that would permeate the town, were proposed by early riders and became ensconced in the Town's General Plan through their efforts.
