After (some members of) the Town Council floated an "alternative plan" to the Residents Initiative (one that could be enacted directly by a willing council and would supposedly do
a better job of protecting the Town's Open Spaces - and divert votes from the Residents Initiative) one of the Council Members took it upon himself to publish a flyer
purporting to provide some "facts" about the Initiative.
Accordingly a "rebuttal" flyer was produced and circulated wildly.
Subsequent informal surveys revealed that this rebuttal flyer also had a huge impact on voters, causing further backfiring against the opposition attempts to derail or divert the Initiative.
